Porcellionides pruinosus “Cuban Isopods (orange)”
Origin:
Colour variation that is hardly seen in nature.
Temperature:
23-26 °C, 25 °C is the perfect breeding temperature.
Size:
up to 1,2 cm
Social Behaviour:
Porcellionides pruinosus show up regulary on the surface and are a really great kind for beginners. Since they’re really greedy they’re also a perfect clean-up-crew! Another place where you’ll probably find them is around fallen leaves because they also see good food in it.
Breeding:
The animals procreate quickly and you even have to be careful that they won’t become too much. That’s why they’re perfect as feeding animals for average sized reptiles.
Special Features:
There are orange and white colour variations which get easily eaten by reptiles and frogs because of their bright colours. As soon as our white form of breeding is stable, we’ll offer them on our shop.
Tipp: Cuban Isopods eat and need a lot of calcium, therefore we always offer our isopods some of it.
I wrote an article about the equipment of the inside of the box and the food of cuban isopods.
