Behavior:
Porcellio expansus are often found alone and like to live under wood, stone and foliage. The animals are active at dusk and can therefore mostly be found in the evening and morning.
Breeding:
Breeding is rather more difficult and therefore the animals are more suitable for more experienced isopod keepers. The development period lasts 9-12 months depending on the conditions.

Porcellio expansus is probably one of the most sought-after isopod species currently in the hobby.

Special features:
The first orange color forms have been bred out. The orange is currently only on the outer edge.
Tip: Keep rather dry. They like to stay in white rotten wood, so you should always offer larger pieces. A corner with damp leaves is sufficient moisture for this isopod species. They like to eat lichen from tree bark.
