Short description:
Hyllus walckenaeri is the most agile jumping spider we currently offer. They are always busy with something, which makes them very interesting to watch. Also the jumps of Hyllus walckenaeri are remarkable and they overcome very large distances this way. Within a group they are more socially acceptable than other jumping spiders. They can be kept in groups until they are subadult. Sexual dimorphism is remarkable in this species. The male Hyllus walckenaeri are not only different in color, but also have different body proportions. Remarkable are the large chelicerae! Suitable food animals are fruit flies, house flies or oven fish. Everything that is not eaten within one day should be removed from the terrarium. We feed and water juvenile spiders every 3 days and adults once a week. Humidity should be at 70% with good ventilation. We spray some water in a corner. This is sufficient and it is better to spray sparingly than too much. The animals absorb the water drops as needed and thus quench their thirst.
