Ficus scandens quercifolia

This plant species, which originates from Colombia, is ideal as a ground cover in the terrarium. Ficus scandens quercifolia not only creates a natural environment in the terrarium, but also increases the humidity. It also climbs up decorative objects such as cork bark or roots and transforms your terrarium into a natural landscape.

 

In contrast to Ficus pumila, which is also often offered in various garden centres, the leaves are only half the size.

Ficus scandens quercifolia is not difficult to propagate. You simply cut off a shoot and can plant it directly into another terrarium.

 

The light requirements of this plant species are relatively low and you do not need LED lighting, just a bright location.
