Short description:
Restrepia trichoglossa is found in Panama, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. It grows there epiphytically (perching plant) in humid cloud forests at altitudes from 300 to 3200 meters. Therefore, the approx. 15 cm tall mini orchid is perfect as a perching plant, but you can also plant it very well in the small pots in the terrarium. The pot is best covered with some moss and can be taken out of the terrarium if necessary.
Restrepia trichoglossa gets along with 6500-7000 Kelvin. At 20-30 °C the plant thrives well and is therefore also suitable for warmer terrariums. It should be sprayed with rainwater at least twice a day. Restrepia trichoglossa grows bushy and can be propagated by dividing the stock.
