Armadillidium spec. “Albino”

| Origin | It is a cultivated form that does not occur in nature. The origin of this Isopod lies in Japan. |
| Temperature | 22-27 °C |
| Size | up to 1.7 cm |
Behavior:
Absolute group animal and very voracious, making it the ideal Isopod for use as ground police. They are not as timid as other Armadillidium species and rarely curl up. This is a great feature for any isopod lover who likes to observe the animals. For this very reason, I often sit in front of the breeding tanks for a long time and enjoy watching them searching for suitable food or breeding.
Breeding:
The species is very prolific and is characterized by very rapid growth. The young isopods are fully developed within 6 months. I have rarely seen a species of isopod that reproduces so explosively. Within a very short time you can enjoy young isopods in the terrarium, which greedily pounce on everything they can get their hands on. As the young isopods live almost exclusively in the substrate, this is also thoroughly cleaned and all waste removed.
Special features:
Albino breeding form with red eyes. As young animals they are relatively light in color and become more yellowish with age. It is assumed that the basic form is an Armadillidium vulgare. For me it is a very interesting species, as it can be used as ground police in almost any terrarium and therefore also provides an interesting animal. This creates what many people want, a kind of community terrarium.
Tip: I can recommend Armadillidium spec. albino to every beginner. As they are very easy to keep, they can be used as ground police in almost any terrarium. They should definitely be fed protein regularly. Fish food flakes, cat food, dog food, chick starter and much more are suitable for this.
Armadillidium spec. albino is also available in the complete Insektenliebe Isopod set.
