Merulanella spec. “Vietnam”

Merulanella spec. “Vietnam” has a gray-brownish base coloration which is red edged. The reddish border is especially noticeable on larger isopods and gives it an attractive appearance. Also the antennae and legs are reddish colored.
The animals are very nimble in the terrarium. As soon as you spray the container with some water, they turn into slow isopods and they visibly enjoy the artificial downpour.
Merulanella spec. “Vietnam” can be found in cooler mountainous regions and they can be successfully bred at 20 °C as well. The keeping and breeding succeeds relatively without problems. However, care should be taken that the substrate does not sump, as the temperature is relatively low. Less watering and more frequent spraying is the key to success with Merulanella spec. “Vietnam”.
