Merulanella spec. “Starsky”

Merulanella spec. “Starsky” is a very interesting isopod species. It has a brownish-grey base colour with yellow spots. The colouration develops over time, i.e. juveniles often only have the base colour and develop the yellow spots later in life. Merulanella spec. “Starsky” sometimes appears a bit hectic. However, this subsides with longer handling in the box and especially when spraying water, they come out of their hiding places.

Keeping them should not be a problem for experienced isopod keepers. In the meantime, Merulanella spec. “Starsky” has been bred in captivity for several generations and is forgiving of one or two husbandry mistakes.
