The Exo Terra BioDrain Terrarium Substrate is a natural, inorganic substrate that creates an excellent drainage system in the terrarium. It does not rot and decompose like other natural substrates. The optional drainage net separates the drainage substrate from the upper decorative terrarium substrate and prevents the different substrates from mixing and contaminating the terrarium water. The drainage substrate acts as a biological filter system in the terrarium. The clean terrarium water can then be channelled through waterfalls or sprinkler systems.
