Spirostreptus spec. 9

Brief description:

Spirostreptus spec. 9 is very similar to the closely related species Spirostreptus spec. 8 and sometimes differs only in the coloration of the animals. Like S. spec. 8, this species also prefers moist, shady forests. The species is mainly found in Cameroon. With a maximum length of about 25 cm, it is one of the larger diplopod species.

As mentioned above, the coloration is the only point by which I distinguish Spirostreptus spec. 8 and Spirostreptus spec. 9. Spirostreptus spec. 9 is dark brown, orange-yellow ringed and has gray legs and antennae. The body of this species is very shiny and smooth.

This species can be kept in the same way as Spirostreptus spec. 8.
