Short description about Tropidacris collaris:
Tropidacris collaris “South American Grasshopper” require a temperature of 22 to 30 °C and a humidity between 60 and 80 percent. This can be achieved by spraying into the terrarium every two days. The amount of water depends on the size of the terrarium and the aeration areas. Tropidacris collaris “South American grasshopper” like to sit at the highest point in the terrarium during the day. They love to eat the blackberry leaves, which are easy to get all year round, making them very uncomplicated as terrarium keepers. The food plants are placed in the terrarium as leafy branches in vases with a narrow neck. The egg packs, containing 50-100 eggs, are placed in the substrate by the females. Make sure that the height of the substrate is 10 cm. The eggs have an incubation period of about 12 months depending on the temperature.
