Short description:
The animals require temperatures of 22 to 28 °C and a humidity of between 60 and 80 percent. This can be achieved by spraying into the terrarium every two days. The amount of water depends on the size of the terrarium and the aeration areas. Sungaya inexpectata, the lowland form of sunny stick insect like to sit hidden during the day on parts of plants, which preferably have similar colours as the animals themselves. Therefore you can offer them dry brown hardwood branches in the terrarium. The blackberry leaves, which are easy to get all year round, are eaten with great pleasure, which makes them very uncomplicated as terrarium caretakers. The food plants are placed in the terrarium as leafy branches in vases with a narrow neck. The eggs are simply dropped on the ground by the females. They hatch after about 4-6 months depending on the temperature. The animals need about 3-4 months until sexual maturity.
