The ‘Ivory Spiky’ isopods originally come from the humid regions of Vietnam. They thrive best in a terrarium equipped with a mixture of forest humus and food leaves, supplemented with cork granules, which ensure a natural and fluffy texture of the soil.
For optimum humidity regulation, you should always keep the moss in the terrarium moist and the soil should always have a tobacco-moist consistency. Regular but moderate humidification, about twice a week, helps to keep the microclimate in the terrarium stable and promotes the well-being of these fascinating creatures.
Laureola spec. ‘Ivory Spiky’ are not only a visual enrichment for every terrarium, but also play an important role as decomposers of organic material.
