Short description about H. brevicornis:
This Isopod species differs considerably from all other species. Not only is it the largest pillbug in the world, but the keeping of Helleria brevicornis resembles that of a millipede or beetle larva, not an isopod. Therefore a terrarium with a high substrate filling height (min. 15 cm) should be chosen and attention should be paid to the substrate. Forest humus with white rotten wood and leaves is the base and we mix these ingredients 1:1:1. Therefore the animals are perfectly supplied with food and we enrich the whole thing only with lime granules. As a top layer we use leaves and as additional food cuttlebone and rarely isopod food. Vegetables or fruit are not accepted by our animals at all, so you can do without them. Since this species differs considerably from all other species, we will write a report about Helleria brevicornis soon.
