Short description:
Archispirostreptus gigas is probably one of the most impressive millipede species in our hobby. With a total length of up to 32 cm it belongs to the largest of its kind. The black base coloration is variable and depending on the origin the segment rings can contain a reddish to yellow coloration.
The animals are very robust and do not cause any problems even for beginners. The substrate should have a height of at least 10 cm. This allows the animals to bury themselves shortly before molting and to carry out the molting process undisturbed. The humidity should be between 75-95%, so that the animals feel comfortable. Also climbing possibilities should always be offered. These are also gladly accepted by the strong animals and one can observe them at the same time also great. The branches are best placed in the empty terrarium and then filled with the bottom substrate. This way you provide a safe hold and there are no dangers.
Archispirostreptus gigas can also be bred with a little patience and become sexually mature at 3-4 years.
