Brief description of Thyropygus allevatus:

With a total length of up to 30 cm, Thyropygus allevatus is one of the largest Asian millipede species. The dark brown base coloration offers a beautiful contrast to the light brown segment rings.

The animals are very robust and cause no problems even for beginners. The substrate should be at least 10 cm high. This allows the animals to bury themselves shortly before moulting and carry out the moulting process undisturbed. The humidity should be between 75-95% so that the animals feel comfortable. Climbing opportunities should also always be provided. These are also readily accepted by the strong animals and they are also great to watch. It is best to place the branches in the empty terrarium and then fill it with the substrate. This provides a secure hold and there are no dangers.

Thyropygus allevatus can also be bred with a little patience and become sexually mature at 3-4 years of age.
