Particularly impressive appearance

Porcellio bolivari “Yellow Ghost” is one of the most fascinating isopod species in the terrarium hobby. The animals have a Flat and broad physiquewhich gives them a striking appearance. The basic color is a light white to cream. Along the center of the body, however, there is a striking yellow stripethat immediately catches the eye.

This high-contrast pattern makes this species a real highlight in the terrarium. The play of colors is particularly impressive in larger groups.

The male animals contribute to the special appearance. Like most Porcellio species, they have distinct elongated uropods (tail appendages), which makes them appear larger and more striking. These elongated structures reinforce the elegant overall impression of the animals.

Another interesting point: Porcellio bolivari “Yellow Ghost” is not an artificial color mutation. The animals were discovered in the wild. Their original habitat is in the Spanish province of Alicante.

The main food sources are Foliage and white rotten wood. The animals are also happy to eat vegetables, flowers, fruit or special isopod food.
