Brief description:
The base color is dark red. From the 6th segment onwards there are black dots on the exits of the defense glands. There are more or less distinct black spots on the front section of the segments. From the base of the legs there is a black band on the posterior section of the segments (metazonite), which extends to below the defense glands and in some cases reaches them in the posterior segments. The head shield (collum) is black, marbled dark red in places, with a red band at the rear edge, narrowly edged in red at the front. Head, legs and antennae are black.
Centrobolus spec. “Mozambique” tend to live on trees and are therefore very good climbers. Sufficient branches should also be provided in the terrarium for climbing. The substrate should be filled at least 10 cm high, preferably more of course.
Lighting can also be dispensed with for this species, but a day-night rhythm should still be maintained. So please do not keep them in complete darkness. A temperature of 22-26°C has proven to be suitable for keeping these animals. We keep our animals at 60-80% humidity throughout. To maintain the humidity, you can cover the substrate with leaves, moss, bark or similar. Both the organic material contained in the substrate and additional food such as cucumbers, mushrooms or millipede food are used as food. The species regularly spends time on the surface in its adult state and is easy to observe. Breeding this species is relatively easy and it is forgiving of the odd husbandry mistake, which makes it a good starter species.
