Short description:
Spirostreptus spec. 9 is very similar to the closely related species Spirostreptus spec. 8 and sometimes differs only in the coloration of the animals. Like S. spec. 8, this species also prefers to inhabit moist, shady forests. Especially in Cameroon the species can be found. With a maximum length of about 25 cm it belongs to the larger diplopod species.
The coloration is as mentioned above the only point where I can tell Spirostreptus spec. 8 and Spirostreptus spec. 9 apart. Spirostreptus spec. 9 is dark brown, ringed with orange-yellow, and has gray legs and antennae. The body of this species is very shiny and smooth.
This species can be kept just like Spirostreptus spec. 8.
