Fascinating multi-legged creature from Southeast Asia – Glyphiulus spec. “Thailand

This beautiful yellow biped from Thailand is a real eye-catcher in the terrarium and impresses with its unusual coloration and peaceful nature. With a length of around 12 cm Glyphiulus spec. “Thailand” is one of the medium-sized species among the millipedes, but always remains elegant thanks to its fine structure and graceful appearance. Its bright yellow color with fine, darker accents is particularly striking – a play of colors that clearly sets it apart from other species and makes it a visual highlight.

This species is ideal for beginners to keeping bipeds, but is also suitable for experienced enthusiasts who are looking for something special. Glyphiulus spec. “Thailand” is nocturnal and likes to spend the day burrowed in the substrate or under pieces of bark. It becomes active at dusk and starts foraging – an exciting spectacle for every terrarium lover.

A warm and humid tropical terrarium with sufficient diggable substrate, ideally consisting of leaf humus, white rotten wood and some sphagnum moss, is recommended for keeping them. A constant temperature between 22 and 25 °C and a high humidity of 75-90 % ensure an optimal feel-good climate. Fresh leaves, vegetables and occasional fish flakes round off the diet.

Glyphiulus spec. “Thailand” is a peaceful soil dweller that can be easily socialized with other moisture-loving species such as Isopods or springtails. Breeding is usually easy under good conditions: the females lay their eggs in the substrate, from which tiny young hatch after a few weeks.

If you are looking for a calm, peaceful and colorful animal for your terrarium, you will find it in Glyphiulus spec. “Thailand” find an ideal roommate – fascinating, easy to care for and absolutely unique!
