Porcellio spec. “Sevilla Caramel” – The caramel-colored giant isopod

Porcellio spec. “Sevilla Caramel” is a particularly conspicuous Isopod from southern Spainmore precisely from the region around Seville. This species is one of the larger Porcellio species from the Mediterranean region and is mainly known for its warm caramel brown coloration very popular with terrarium keepers.

The animals have a uniform brown to caramel-colored basic colorationwhich can vary slightly depending on the animal. Some specimens appear lighter, while others have slightly darker markings. This creates a very natural and varied appearance within a group.

With a body size of about 2 to 2.5 cm belongs to Porcellio spec. “Sevilla Caramel” is one of the larger isopod species in the hobby.
