Drosophila Basic Set – Breed fruit flies easily yourself

With the Drosophila Basic Set you can breed fruit flies particularly easily and reliably. It offers you everything you need for a quick and successful breeding batch.

The contained breeding powder is optimally balanced and provides the offspring with all the important nutrients. As a result, the animals develop quickly, evenly and healthily. At the same time, the approach convinces with a pleasant banana smellso that you can easily place the breeding in the living area.

The application is uncomplicated and saves you time. You add the breeding powder to the container and supplement it with 100 ml water. Alternatively, you can also 90 ml water and 10 ml table vinegar use. This also reduces the risk of mold growth.

After mixing, press the wood wool lightly on the surface. This serves as a climbing and developmental structure for the Drosophila. Then enter your existing Drosophila cultures added.

The set is suitable for both Drosophila hydei as well as for Drosophila melanogaster. This allows you to remain flexible and breed both species without any problems.

Place the culture medium at room temperature and out of direct sunlight up. Already after about two weeks you can feed the first offspring. This means you quickly have a reliable source of food for your animals.

You can also control the development via the temperature. The flies develop faster in warmer conditionswhile cooler temperatures slow down the process. This allows you to optimally adapt the cultivation to your needs.
