Short description:
Armadillidium espanyoli “Marbelized” is a unique small sized isopod species from Spain. The marbled ground coloration gives the isopod a unique appearance. Each isopod has its own pattern. The animals reproduce better at a warmer temperature and can produce offsprings all year round. The gestation period is about 60 days and the development time is longer than in other Armadillidium species, so some patience is needed for breeding.The animals prefer a slightly drier keeping. We water the terrarium once a week half way through. That way the animals can choose their preferred place. We keep our breeding group on Flake Soil and the substrate we keep covered with foliage. A cork bark as a hiding place is gladly accepted.
