Brief description:
Hyllus walckenaeri is the most agile jumping spider we currently offer. They are always busy with something, which makes observing them very interesting. The jumps of Hyllus walckenaeri are also remarkable and they cover very large distances. They are more socially compatible within a group than other jumping spiders. They can be kept in groups until they are subadult. The sexual dimorphism of this species is remarkable. The male Hyllus walckenaeri are not only different in color, but also have different body proportions. The large chelicerae are remarkable! Fruit flies, house flies or oven fish are suitable food. Anything that is not eaten within a day should be removed from the terrarium. We feed and water young spiders every 3 days and adult animals once a week. The humidity should be 70 % with good ventilation. We spray a little water in a corner. This is completely sufficient and it is better to spray a little more sparingly than too much. The animals absorb the drops of water as required and thus quench their thirst.
