Porcellio scaber “Yellow Snow” – Bright eye-catcher in the isopod tank<\/span><\/h3>\n

Porcellio scaber “Yellow Snow”<\/span><\/strong> is a particularly striking color form of the well-known woodlouse <\/span>Porcellio scaber<\/span>. This variant combines a <\/span>very light, almost whitish base color<\/span> with <\/span>yellowish markings<\/span>which creates an extraordinary contrast. It is precisely this combination that is visually reminiscent of snow with warm color accents and has given this cultivar its special name. <\/span><\/p>\n

The animals reach a size of about <\/span>1.5 to 2 cm<\/span> and thus belong to the medium-sized isopod species. At the same time, they show a very <\/span>active behavior<\/span>which is why they can often be observed in the terrarium. If they feel disturbed, they quickly flee under leaves, wood or bark. <\/span><\/p>\n

A classic isopod terrarium is suitable for keeping <\/span>classic isopod terrarium<\/span> as well as a well ventilated <\/span>plastic box<\/span>. Just one container from about <\/span>5 liters volume<\/span> is sufficient for a small group. Nevertheless, stable colonies develop much better in larger tanks with sufficient structure. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, this structure prevents the entire substrate from becoming too wet. Temperatures between <\/span>20 and 26 \u00b0C<\/span> have proven to be particularly suitable for keeping them.<\/span><\/p>\n
