Dicronorhina derbyana derbyana – Colorful beginner beetle<\/span><\/h3>\n

Dicronorhina derbyana derbyana<\/span><\/strong> is one of the most impressive rose beetles in terraristics. The animals have a <\/span>Metallic green basic coloration<\/span>although some specimens can also show reddish tones. The entire upper side of the body is covered with a characteristic pattern of <\/span>white stripes<\/span>which makes the beetle particularly conspicuous.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a body length of <\/span>up to 5 cm<\/span> this rose chafer looks very massive and imposing. Many animals also have a <\/span>shiny metallic red spot on the neck shield<\/span>which makes the beetle appear even more attractive. The legs also show a metallic green color, while only the tarsi are black. The underside of the body appears completely black. On the head, the animals also have a <\/span>small T-shaped horn<\/span>which is typical for this species.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to their impressive coloration and their relatively <\/span>easy keeping<\/span> these beetles are becoming increasingly popular among terrarium keepers. The <\/span>Generation time<\/span> is about <\/span>10 to 12 months<\/span>so that the species is also well suited for breeding.<\/span><\/p>\n

The natural habitat of Dicronorhina derbyana derbyana<\/strong> is in the shrub and tree vegetation of Africa. <\/span>shrub and tree vegetation of Africa<\/span>.
