They contain many   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Humic substances and tannins<\/span><span class=\"s2\">which can inhibit the growth of fungi and bacteria. This is particularly beneficial for   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Invertebrates such as Isopods, millipedes and springtails<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In addition, alder cones <\/span><span class=\"s1\">the pH value in the substrate<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. This creates a soil environment that suits many terrarium inhabitants and resembles natural habitats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Our alder cones come from <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Black alders from the natural environment<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. We collect them  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">by hand<\/span><span class=\"s2\">let them ripen completely <\/span><span class=\"s1\">ripen on the tree<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> and then dry them gently <\/span><span class=\"s1\">gently<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. This preserves their natural ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">For many terrarium keepers, alder cones are particularly suitable for making an <\/span><span class=\"s1\">alder cone broth<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. To ensure that the brew remains clean later, the cones are already  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">in a practical tea bag<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. As a result, hardly any dirt particles get into the water during the brewing time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">For a brew, add the alder cone tea bag<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> in <\/span><span class=\"s1\">1 liter of boiling water<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. Then leave the mixture  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">infuse for about 24 hours<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">During this time, the water turns a <\/span><span class=\"s1\">brownish<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. This color is created because the  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Dissolve humic substances from the alder cones in the water<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Then simply pour the brew into a <\/span><span class=\"s1\">spray bottle<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  and spread it around the terrarium. If you have prepared more stock, you can easily   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Store in a closed bottle<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. The tannins it contains inhibit fungal growth so that the brew does not go moldy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">You don&#8217;t have to dispose of the boiled cones either.
