It supports the stable development of the eggs because it stores moisture and at the same time enables good ventilation. The right substrate moisture plays a decisive role in breeding success, especially during the incubation period. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Many reptile eggs, especially <\/span><span class=\"s1\">soft-shelled eggs<\/span><span class=\"s2\">absorb large amounts of moisture during incubation. The breeding substrate must therefore reliably store water and release it again in a controlled manner. Vermiculite performs precisely this task particularly reliably.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The <\/span><span class=\"s1\">humidity in the incubator<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  can be easily regulated by the amount of water added. This improves the   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Gas exchange in the breeding substrate<\/span><span class=\"s2\">which is especially important for <\/span><span class=\"s1\">larger or hard-shelled eggs<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> is important.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">During the incubation period, you should replace evaporated water regularly. This keeps the humidity in the incubation substrate constant. This prevents delicate eggs from rolling back and forth in the incubator.
