Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens – The color fireworks from Venezuela<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens<\/strong>, better known as the Greenbottle Blue Tarantula, is one of the most colorful tarantulas in the terrarium hobby, <\/span>because<\/span> Hardly any other species combines so many bright colors in one animal. The bright blue legs, the orange abdomen <\/span>and<\/span> the metallic-green carapace appear almost unreal, <\/span>whereby<\/span> this spider immediately catches the eye. It retains this intense coloration for the rest of its life <\/span>and<\/span> therefore inspires both as a young animal <\/span>as well as<\/span> as an adult animal.<\/span><\/p>\n

This species originates from the dry coastal regions of northern Venezuela <\/span>and<\/span> lives there in bushy, semi-desert areas. It lives close to the ground <\/span>and<\/span> uses self-dug or abandoned burrows, <\/span>while<\/span> it also builds large, dense webs. These serve as shelter and hunting grounds. <\/span>and<\/span> as a place of retreat. It also shows this behavior very clearly in the terrarium, <\/span>because<\/span> it spins decoration, substrate <\/span>and<\/span> Hiding places intensively. This makes it a particularly exciting spider to observe. <\/span><\/p>\n

As a New World species, it has stinging hairs, <\/span>which<\/span> it can use when threatened, <\/span>which is why<\/span> calm handling is recommended. Due to its pronounced weaving behavior, it is often visible <\/span>and<\/span> often shows itself openly in the terrarium.<\/span><\/p>\n

This species is uncomplicated to feed, <\/span>because<\/span> crickets, crickets, cockroaches <\/span>and<\/span> other common food insects are accepted without any problems. Young animals are given smaller prey accordingly, <\/span>while<\/span> adult animals can cope with larger food animals. Regular, but not excessive feeding is completely sufficient. <\/span><\/p>\n

With good care, females can live for over 12 years, <\/span>while<\/span> males usually live much shorter. Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens<\/strong> combines spectacular colors, active spinning behavior <\/span>and<\/span> easy keeping, <\/span>so that<\/span> for beginners with basic knowledge <\/span>as well as<\/span> is an excellent choice for experienced keepers.
