In this special substrate grow   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Shiitake mushrooms<\/span><span class=\"s2\">which permeate the wood with their mycelium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">During growth, the fungal mycelia break down the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">cellulose of the beech chips<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  from. This creates a structure that is strongly reminiscent of  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">white rotten wood<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  reminds us. It is precisely this material that many terrarium animals particularly like to eat. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">After the mushroom harvest, the so-called <\/span><strong><span class=\"s1\">kinshi block<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s2\">  back. This is ideal as a   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Food for Isopods, millipedes, springtails and beetle larvae<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. The animals quickly begin to form small  <\/span><span class=\"s1\">corridors through the block<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> and at the same time use it as food and structure in the terrarium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Due to the decomposition caused by the fungus, the wood is already <\/span><span class=\"s1\">and is particularly easy to utilize<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. It is therefore readily accepted by many soil dwellers and supports their growth and development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The <strong>kinshi<\/strong> in our range comes from a regional <\/span><span class=\"s1\">regional mushroom grower<\/span><span class=\"s2\">who cultivates shiitake mushrooms on it. After harvesting, the substrate is reused and thus receives a   <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Ecologically sensible secondary use in the terrarium<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Especially in <\/span><span class=\"s1\">bioactive terrariums<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  it is an excellent addition. It serves both as a food source for the soil police and as a structure in the substrate. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Many owners also use Kinshi as an <\/span><span class=\"s1\">alternative to white rotten wood<\/span><span class=\"s2\">as it has similar properties and is just as well accepted by many decomposer organisms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">As it is a <\/span><span class=\"s1\">natural product<\/span><span class=\"s2\">  the shape, structure and size of the <strong>Kinshi blocks<\/strong> can vary slightly.
