Merulanella<\/span> spec<\/span>. “<\/span>Black Hole“<\/span><\/strong> is similar in size and body shape to Merulanella<\/span> spec<\/span>. “<\/span>Ember<\/span> Bee<\/span>“<\/span> and “Lava”<\/span>. The black is dark, matt and deep, unlike any other isopod species<\/span> to date.
\nWe increase the substrate height<\/span> of the forest humus to 10-15 cm for all Merulanella<\/span> species. Due to the relatively high humidity of 80 %, it makes sense to use more substrate that can absorb excess water. A drainage layer of expanded clay is also an option to prevent waterlogging. <\/p>\n

A generous layer of leaves is often used by the animals as a hiding place and for feeding. A perforated limestone serves as a hiding place and for additional calcium intake. However, cuttlefish should still be offered. Merulanella spec. “<\/g>Black Hole“<\/g><\/g> and other Merulanella<\/g> species continuously satisfy their calcium requirement. Perhaps it is due to their size and they simply need more calcium, but in any case it is a conspicuous amount compared to other species. <\/p>\n

Therefore, make sure that the lid closes tightly. The housing should also be tight so that the offspring cannot simply wander out of the terrarium.
