These include, among others  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Isopods, springtails, millipedes (Diplopoda), enchytraea and many other soil organisms<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. In the wild, these animals mainly eat  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">rotten leaves<\/span><span class=\"s1\">  and not freshly fallen leaf material. This behavior can be observed very well in the forest floor. This is where the life of many decomposers begins in the lower layers of the leaf litter.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is precisely this natural process that our <\/span><strong><span class=\"s2\">fodder foliage<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"s1\">. To make it easier for the animals to absorb the nutrients, we have  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">fermented<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. During the fermentation process, microorganisms break down the  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Lignin<\/span><span class=\"s1\">  partially. This makes the ingredients more readily available and the animals can utilize the leaves much more easily. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For the production we first use <\/span><span class=\"s2\">normal mixed foliage<\/span><span class=\"s1\">which we add water and special bacteria. The leaves then ferment for about   <\/span><span class=\"s2\">for six weeks<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. During this time, the bacteria naturally break down the structure of the leaf material. As a result, the leaves decompose more quickly and become particularly attractive to decomposers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During the fermentation process <\/span><span class=\"s2\">solid clumps of leaves<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. In the final step, we shred the material again. This loosens up the fermented leaves and allows them to be used later in the terrarium.   <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Easy and even dosing<\/span><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another important step is <\/span><span class=\"s2\">sterilization<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. Our <strong>fodder leaves<\/strong> are stored at least  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">72 hours at -26 \u00b0C<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. This allows us to reliably reduce possible companions such as  <\/span><span class=\"s2\">Fungus gnats or mites<\/span><span class=\"s1\">. This gives you a clean and safe natural product for your terrarium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The fermented <strong>fodder foliage<\/strong> is ideal as <\/span><span class=\"s2\">base feed and top layer<\/span><span class=\"s1\">  in the terrarium.
