Sandinista lanceolatum

Sandinista lanceolatum belongs to the dwarf bird spiders. In Central America, it lives in the subtropical dry forests and builds burrows up to 20 cm deep. This offers it protection from predators and at the same time from the large amounts of rainfall. At its entrance, it likes to spin a carpet, which amplifies the vibrations of enemies or prey and allows it to react quickly.

In the terrarium, a cork tube half buried in the substrate is perfectly adequate as a hiding place. The terrarium size of 30x30x30 cm is well chosen and offers the dwarf bird spider enough space. Stones or branches as decoration are also gladly accepted as hiding places. A drinking bowl for water intake should not be missing. The humidity of 70-75 % is sufficient.
