Yellow board – Effective help against fungus gnats

The 5 × 12 cm yellow board is a tried and tested means of controlling fungus gnats or humpback flies. Each pack contains 20 pieces. You can use them to equip several terrariums, planters or breeding boxes at the same time.

Fungus gnats multiply very quickly, especially in moist substrates. Tropical set-ups with permanently high humidity create ideal conditions. This is where the yellow panel comes in. The intense yellow coloration strongly attracts flying insects. As soon as they land, they stick securely to the adhesive surface. This effectively and visibly reduces the population.

The application is uncomplicated. You hang the yellow board in the terrarium or near your houseplants. Make sure that your terrarium animals do not have direct contact with the adhesive surface. This way you protect your animals and at the same time benefit from the full effect against flying insects.

A major advantage is the chemical-free operation. You do not introduce any sprays or poisons into the tank. At the same time, you can accurately assess the infestation based on the insects caught and react in a targeted manner.

For particularly effective control of fungus gnats, we recommend combining the yellow panels with predatory mites such as Hypoaspis miles. While the yellow boards reliably catch the flying adult fungus gnats, predatory mites work directly in the substrate. There they actively hunt the larvae and thus interrupt the development cycle. In this way, you not only control the visible insects, but also the actual cause of the problem. This combination of mechanical control via the yellow boards and biological pest control by predatory mites ensures a stable, poison-free balance in the terrarium and is particularly useful in permanently humid setups.

The compact size of 5 × 12 cm means it can also be used in smaller containers. This makes the yellow board ideal for breeding boxes, plant quarantine or small terrariums. In combination with good ventilation and appropriate humidity, you can stabilize the biological balance in the long term.
