Wheat bran – the proven basis for healthy feed animals

Wheat bran is a real classic feed in terraristics. It forms the ideal basis for feeding many feeder insects. These include crickets, crickets, cockroaches and grasshoppers. The fine structure of wheat bran makes it easy to offer. At the same time, the animals accept it very well.

The bran consists of the outer layers of the wheat grain. It contains fiber, vegetable proteins and valuable minerals. These nutrients provide the animals with energy. They also support digestion and growth. Especially in breeding, wheat bran ensures stable and active populations.

Wheat bran is an excellent basic feed. You can offer it on its own. However, you can also combine it with other isopod food, vegetables or protein components. This creates a balanced food supply. This combination promotes vitality and reproduction, especially in cockroaches and crickets.

Isopods also like to use wheat bran. They grate off the fine particles. At the same time, the bran serves as an additional structure in the substrate. In a slightly moist environment, it is also colonized by microorganisms. This microfauna further improves the nutritional value. This creates a natural feeding cycle in the terrarium.

The application is very simple. Sprinkle a small amount of wheat bran into a food bowl or directly onto a dry spot in the substrate. Make sure to add small amounts regularly. This prevents mold and keeps the food fresh.

Wheat bran has a long shelf life. It is easy to store. It is also very economical. This makes it suitable for both small farms and larger herds.
