Brief description:
Trachelipus caucasius has a gray base coloration. The segment plates end with pale yellow tips. This species, which originates from Sochi, is also suitable for beginners. The climate there is subtropical with long, hot summers, a warm fall and short, mild winters. The species can therefore tolerate temperatures of up to 5 °C for short periods, but should not be kept too cool just because they come from Russia. We keep Trachelipus caucasius in the same way as Armadillidium species from the Mediterranean (Armadillidium klugii or Amradillidium maculatum). The species reproduces relatively well and doesn’t pose any major problems.
The animals’ behavior is relatively calm and relaxed and makes them easy to observe.
