Aspinochilus rufus – Rare beauty among tarantulas

Aspinochilus rufus (ex. Phormingochilus spec. rufus ) is a particularly fascinating Tree tarantula from Borneo. This species belongs to the group of so-called Old-World tarantulaswhich are known for their fast behavior and impressive appearance. Their reddish coloration clearly sets this species apart from many other Asian tarantulas.

The body usually shows a dark brown to reddish basic colorationwhile the legs often have an intense reddish-brown tone own. This makes the spider look particularly striking and elegant in the terrarium. The warm colors really come into their own in good lighting.
