Neoholothele incei “Gold” – activity in the smallest of spaces

The Neoholothele incei “Gold”, formerly known as Holothele incei is an impressive dwarf tarantula from Venezuela. With its golden yellow sheen, it is a real eye-catcher – even though it is one of the smaller species with a body length of only 3-4 cm. Its bright color and active behavior make it a popular choice for beginners and collectors.

This species is known for its conspicuous living tubes, which it spins with enthusiasm. Even during the day, they can often be seen outside their webs, which makes them particularly exciting to observe. A special highlight: under certain conditions, they can be kept in groups. With sufficient space, food and hiding places, the animals are surprisingly social. However, this requires experience and careful observation, as not every group constellation works.

A terrarium from 20 × 20 × 20 cm is sufficient for individual animals. For groups, you should plan for a larger area and plenty of hiding places. Cork bark, moss and leaves provide structure and places of retreat. A mixture of forest humus and clay is suitable as a substrate. Regular watering of a corner keeps the humidity at 70-80%. The temperature should be 23-27 °C during the day and may drop slightly at night. A water bowl is also part of the basic equipment.

Neoholothele incei “Gold” is considered to be rather calm. When disturbed, it usually flees into its web, but can also react with lightning speed. Their bite is harmless to humans, but you should still treat them with respect. The combination of activity, beautiful coloration and the possibility of keeping them in groups makes them particularly attractive for lovers of smaller species.

This dwarf tarantula is a real gem and brings life to any terrarium. Anyone who enjoys natural observations will be delighted with this species.
