Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra, also known as the “Colombian Bumblebee”, an impressive member of the Theraphosidae family. This rare and fascinating tarantula species was described by Guadanucci & Weinmann in 2015 and originates from the picturesque regions around Villavicencio, Meta, in Colombia.

The Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra enchants with its unmistakable appearance. The name is derived from the striking striped black and gold, partly reddish pattern on its abdomen – a feature that makes it unique in the world of tarantulas. The combination of the Latin words “fascia” (band or stripe), “auri” (golden) and “nigra” (black) precisely describes the breathtaking beauty of this species.

This ground-dwelling tarantula prefers a terrarium measuring 20 x 20 x 20 cm, which is modeled on its natural habitat, with temperatures between 23-25°C and a humidity of 70-80%. The “Colombian Bumblebee” reaches a leg span of around 7 cm and is known for its shy nature.

In the past it was sometimes uncertain whether you were actually being offered Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra offspring or its sister species Neoholothele incei, which is frequently encountered in the hobby. Thanks to genetic analyses, however, it is certain that the offspring offered here are not Neoholothele incei.

The Neoholothele fasciaaurinigra is considered particularly valuable for experienced tarantula keepers due to its exceptional beauty and specific care requirements.
