Merulanella spec. “Lava” is not only impressive in size. The bright red color of this species immediately catches the eye. The red spots are usually located on the flanks. However, the coloration varies in this species and sometimes there are animals in the group that have a much larger proportion of red. Future selection is recommended for this species. Increased humidity of 80 % has proven to be useful for this species.
We recommend limestone and a higher proportion of moss in the substrate. Otherwise the keeping conditions are the same as for other Cubaris or Merulanella species.
