Hobby Terrano Quellhumus – High-yield fiber briquette with a volume of up to 8 liters
The Hobby Terrano Quellhumus offers you a high-quality and sustainable alternative to classic terrarium substrate. The pressed fiber briquette consists of coconut shell fibers, which are obtained in a resource-saving manner. This means you are not only opting for quality, but also for environmental awareness.
As soon as you add water, the compact briquette swells within a few minutes. The result is a loose, structurally stable and near-natural soil substrate. A single briquette produces around 8 liters of ready-to-use humus. The briquette also has a practical notch in the middle. This allows you to divide it easily and make two separate 4-liter portions. This means you always use exactly the amount you need.
Terrano spring humus is particularly impressive due to its excellent moisture retention. It reliably absorbs water and releases it evenly. This keeps the soil moisture constant without causing waterlogging. This is a decisive advantage, especially in tropical terrariums or when keeping tarantulas. The animals benefit from a stable microclimate, while plants are provided with optimum growing conditions.
The substrate is also ideal for other terrarium animals. Small reptiles, amphibians and numerous invertebrates will find it a pleasant and natural substrate. At the same time, the spring humus can be easily combined with foliage, moss or other substrates. This allows you to customize your setup.
Thanks to its loose structure, many species particularly enjoy digging in it. The material also retains its shape and does not collapse quickly. This makes maintenance easier and ensures a stable soil layer in the long term.
With the Hobby Terrano Quellhumus you create a natural, moisture-retaining and sustainable basis for your terrarium. It combines yield, quality and environmental awareness – and thus forms the ideal basis for a species-appropriate and successful terrarium setup.
Please note that the coconut fiber substrate should not be used for primary decomposers. Although it has many attractive properties and provides an excellent environment for terrarium animals and plants, it is not suitable for millipedes, Isopods, cockroaches and other first decomposers to ingest this material. For primary decomposers, we still recommend the use of forest humus, white rotten wood and forage leaves.
Application:
To prepare the HOBBY Terrano spring humus optimally, use a 10 liter bucket or a suitable container size. Then carefully pour 3-4 liters of lukewarm water over the spring humus and leave it to work for approx. 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
The block will gradually swell and turn into a loose and natural substrate for your terrarium.
