This Isopod species differs considerably from all other species. Not only is it the largest woodlouse in the world, but keeping Helleria brevicornis is similar to keeping a millipede or beetle larva and not an Isopod. Therefore, a terrarium with a high substrate filling height (min. 15 cm) should be selected and attention should be paid to the substrate. Forest humus with white rotten wood and leaves is the basis and we mix these ingredients 1:1:1. This provides the animals with a perfect food supply and we only enrich the whole thing with lime granules. We use leaves as a top layer and cuttlefish and rarely isopod food as supplementary food. Our animals do not accept vegetables or fruit at all, so you can do without them. As this species differs considerably from all other species, we will soon be writing a husbandry report on Helleria brevicornis.
