The Exo Terra Heat Mat is a proven and reliable solution for the targeted heating of terrariums. It generates long-wave infrared heat, which primarily heats surfaces and not primarily the air. This creates a natural heat zone in the substrate or on the side wall that comes very close to the conditions in nature. Many terrarium animals regulate their body temperature through direct contact with heated surfaces – this is exactly where this heating mat comes in.

It is particularly suitable for tarantulas, scorpions, geckos, smaller snakes and many invertebrates. Burrowing species benefit particularly as they can retreat to temperate layers of soil.
