The Brazil nut shell is a versatile natural product and is ideal as a decorative and functional element in the terrarium. The shell of the Brazil nut is untreated and free from chemical additiveswhich means it can be used in the terrarium without hesitation.

In nature, the hard shell protects the Brazil nut seeds. These are only released when the shell slowly rots. Only the Agutia South American rodent, can break open the extremely hard shell with its powerful teeth to get at the nutritious seeds.

For human use, however, the capsules are opened opened mechanicallyusually with the help of saws. This produces stable shell halves that are ideal as natural terrarium accessories.

Due to their lignified and robust structure the Brazil nut shell is ideally suited as a feeding bowl in the terrarium. You can offer fruit, vegetables or other supplementary food in it without the food lying directly on the substrate.

In addition, many invertebrates invertebrates such as Isopods, millipedes or small insects use the like to use the bowl as a hiding place or retreat. The natural shape offers protection and at the same time creates additional structure in the terrarium.

In addition to these practical functions, the Brazil nut shell also acts as a natural decoration. It blends particularly well into tropical terrarium landscapes and can be perfectly combined with wood, foliage or plants.

The stable bowl shape is also suitable as a small planter in the terrarium. For example, small plants, flowers or even cacti can be placed decoratively in them.

As it is a natural product the individual bowls differ in shape, size and structure. It is precisely these differences that make each piece unique and give your terrarium a particularly natural look.
