The BraPlast container with dual ventilation (stackable) is a practical solution for rearing and keeping small invertebrates. It combines three features that we consider particularly important in a good rearing container: good ventilation, safe housing, and space-saving stacking.

Unlike a traditional BraPlast container, the ventilation is not located in the lid. Instead, a fine-mesh ventilation gauze is heat-sealed to the front and back. This allows air to flow right through the container, while the top can be used entirely for stacking.

This makes a big difference, especially if you keep several tarantulas, mantises, or other invertebrates.

Dual ventilation for good air circulation

The ventilation openings on opposite sides ensure better air circulation inside the can. Fresh air flows in, while humid and stale air can escape more easily.

This results in less stagnant air and, at the same time, allows excess moisture to dry out more effectively. Good ventilation is especially important for species that require a certain amount of moisture but are sensitive to stagnant air over extended periods.

You can then adjust how moist you keep the tank—by adjusting the substrate, the amount of water you spray, and the tank setup—to suit the specific species.

Stack without covering the ventilation

A major advantage of this design is the side ventilation. Since there is no ventilation opening in the lid, you can stack several cans directly on top of each other.

At the same time, airflow through the front and back remains unobstructed.

Drosophila-proof gauze

Small live food is often used, especially for young animals. That is why the container has a fine-mesh gauze that prevents Drosophila fruit flies from easily escaping.

Please note that we have changed the design of the ventilation openings. The new version features square ventilation openings.

However, depending on current inventory levels, you may still receive a can with round ventilation or one with square ventilation during the transition period. This does not affect the function of the dual ventilation system.
