Bamboo leaves – Natural foliage layer for your terrarium
Bamboo leaves are a natural and decorative addition to many terrariums. As top layer on the substrate they create a particularly natural look and give your terrarium an authentic Asian character.
The leaves not only fulfill a decorative purpose. At the same time they create additional hiding places for many terrarium inhabitants. Smaller animals in particular like to use the foliage as a retreat or protection from light and disturbance.
Another advantage is the positive influence on the terrarium climate. The bamboo leaves cover parts of the soil, preventing the substrate from drying out too quickly. At the same time, a stable microclimate with slightly increased humidity is created under the layer of leaves.
Especially First decomposer benefit from this natural structure. Animals like Isopods, springtails or millipedes use the bamboo leaves not only as a hiding place, but also as an additional source of food. Over time, the foliage decomposes and thus contributes to the natural nutrient supply in the soil substrate.
The bamboo foliage thus supports a functioning terrarium ecosystem. At the same time, the foliage looks very natural and goes particularly well with Asian terrarium landscapes.
As it is a natural product the leaves differ in size, shape and color. However, it is precisely these differences that give them their natural character and ensure that each terrarium has an individual appearance.
With bamboo leaves create a natural top layer that is both decorative and offers functional benefits for your terrarium.
