Armadillidium espanyoli “Marbelized”

Brief description:

Armadillidium espanyoli “Marbelized” is a unique small Isopod species from Spain. The marbled basic coloration gives the Isopod a unique appearance. Each Isopod has its own pattern. The animals reproduce better at warmer temperatures and can produce offspring all year round. The gestation period is around 60 days and the development time is longer than with other Armadillidium species, so a little patience is required when breeding.

The animals prefer a slightly drier environment. We water half of the terrarium once a week. This allows the animals to choose their preferred spot. We keep our breeding group on flake soil and the substrate is covered with leaves. A cork bark as a hiding place is gladly accepted.
