Brief description:
Archachatina knorri is brand new to the hobby. The snail shell is beautifully marbled yellow-black and has a red coloration at the tip. The snail body is gray.
The snails need a forest terrarium with a substrate height of at least 10 cm. They sometimes bury themselves in it and the height is very important for laying eggs. The substrate should of course be well calcified. As with all snail species, cuttlefish is essential and must always be offered. This species also loves protein in the form of gammarus pellets.
Daytime temperatures of 26°C and a humidity of 80-90% have proven to be suitable for keeping this species. Like almost all snail species, it should be kept in a group of at least 3 animals.
