Short description:
Phidippus regius “Florida” is a jumping spider native to Florida. It is primarily an arboreal species. Females reach a body length of about 2.0 cm. Their iridescent fangs can vary in color from purple to green. The males of this species, among others, have a black ground coloration in contrast to the females.
The animals are like all jumping spiders quite agile and you get to see them actually always. Shortly before molting they climb into their webs and stay there until the process is finished. The animals are hunters and capture their food without any problems. It is always a spectacle to watch them.
Humidity should be at 70% with good ventilation. We spray in a corner every two days. This is sufficient and it is better to spray sparingly than too much. The animals absorb the water drops as needed and thus quench their thirst.
