One pack of granulated lime is enough for 1 litre of substrate.
If you want to photograph or search for isopods in the wild, you will notice one thing very quickly: they are more likely to occur on calcareous soils. There they absorb the calcium and magnesium and process it in order to use it to build up their exoskeleton.
The lime granulate is mixed directly into the substrate which provides a calcareous natural environment for the islets. It neutralizes the soil acid, which can often destroy complete breeding strains, and binds heavy metals in the soil. The granulate is low in dust and can be used in the home.
One can mix the lime granulate into the substrate at the beginning, or in addition, simply apply superficially afterwards. The granulate is water-soluble and will automatically seep into the substrate over time.
